New Faith, Physical & Spiritual.

In II Corinthians 5:17 we read, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (NKJV)

So, new things come to those who give their life to Christ. We will focus on faith, I know shocking.

New Creation

A new creation is not a refurbished version! A new creation is not a rebuilt version! A new creation is exactly that, New. Yes, you have the same body, but your soul is what Jesus died for. Your soul is who you are; your emotions, your thoughts, your personality. Your soul is who people fall in love with, Jesus did!

Old Things

Old fear, do not let it come with you

Old failures, do not let them come with you

Old bad habits, do not let them slow or stop you

Old jobs and old friends… well you get the point

New faith

Before salvation your faith was either in you, your family, your friends, your schooling, your job, or things like that. However, now you have a faith in God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. This faith is not dependent upon your situation and does not change because of time.

Living it out

There are 2 parallels to live out your faith. The physical and the spiritual. The physical is the things you actually do, not in your mind or heart, but with your hands and feet. The spiritual is not hands and feet, but your soul, the who you are part of you. My strongest faith is when the 2 parallels, physical and spiritual, move in alignment with one another. A simple example of the parallels is this journal post. If I had written it when my spiritual had wanted, it would have been done about a month earlier. If I had written it when my physical wanted, it also would have been done about a month earlier. The problem was when one wanted to do its part, the other didn’t. This morning they are in alignment.

Consider the times you were satisfied with your faith, they were related to when you knew you needed to do something the Holy Spirit was urging you to do AND you physically got up and did it. It could be offering to pray for someone. It could be donating to a cause that is in alignment with God. It could be helping someone move. It could be starting a business or ministry. They are endless.

A few examples of the physical you will want to do often is read your bible, study what you don’t understand and dig deeper when you do. Attend a church that teaches, preaches, and evangelizes. Be part of a 2nd type of service or group that challenges and builds you up.

A few examples of the spiritual are praying in alignment with Gods will, worshipping God on your own and in a group setting, patiently with trust wait for direction from God. Praise God for blessings.

Putting those together will allow you to make noticeable progress with your faith. As you read your bible and learn, you will apply it in the physical. As you pray and God puts something on your heart, you will do it.
